Members suggested local businesses or nonprofits have sometimes sponsored small amenities or segments in the past.
Staff said grant pursuit is managed by department leads and encouraged committee members to email staff with promising grant opportunities; staff said they would pass leads to the appropriate department (parks and recreation or public works) and to Holly Ellis, the public works director. Committee staffing liaison Brandon said he could receive grant ideas and route them to the correct staff member for follow-up.
No formal funding commitments or budgets were approved at the meeting; the discussion was advisory and intended to help the committee and staff identify opportunities for future grant applications.
