Mister Gordon said the appraiser valued the easement at $23,200. In exchange, the developer has agreed to construct a walk path on district property that would connect the subdivision to existing school walkways near the baseball and stadium areas; Gordon said the path will allow students to walk to schools without district-provided transportation.
Gordon described the path alignment and said the sanitary line will run north of existing practice fields and will not interfere with scheduled practices. He said there will likely be separate easement documents later: at least one easement to the county for the sanitary system and a construction easement to the developer for work on district property. He also said the developer will build a short stub on the plan for a future high-school path; the district would fund construction of that extension later, potentially with the easement payment credited toward that work.
On timing, Gordon said developers expect to start infrastructure work in the spring or summer construction season; he did not give a final completion date. The board approved the superintendent consent items, including the MOU, during the superintendent consent motion later in the meeting; easement documents will return to the board for approval when ready.
Ending: Board members asked timing and whether construction would affect athletic activities; Gordon said work will occur north of a net and drainage area and should not interrupt field use. Final easements and any construction easements will be approved in future board actions.
