Glendale Elementary board re-elects Martinez, names Jaramillo clerk; approves agenda and consent items

The Glendale Elementary School District governing board unanimously re-elected Mark Martinez as board president and appointed Hector Jaramillo as board clerk during its organizational meeting on Jan. 9, the board confirmed. The board also voted to adopt the meeting agenda and approve the consent agenda.

The decisions came at the start of the Jan. 9 meeting, which the superintendent said is held annually “as required by statute.” After nominations, each vote was taken by roll call; every named member voted in favor of the motions.

Board members present who cast recorded votes were Mark Martinez (chair), Hector Jaramillo, Brenda Wilson, Miss Pimentel and Miss Bartels. The chair called for adoption of the agenda and for approval of the consent agenda; both motions carried on unanimous recorded ayes.

The board set a follow-up meeting for Jan. 23, at which employment contracts and related agreements are scheduled to be considered, the superintendent said. Board members also noted they have begun collecting topics for a forthcoming board retreat.

There were no public comments at the meeting. The board adjourned following routine votes and the scheduled recognitions and reports.
