Far West Planning Commission recommends Honeybucket sign approval and sets Jan. 23 public hearings on Far West Landing

The Far West Planning Commission recommended approval of a wall sign for Honeybucket at 2990 North 2000 West, set public hearings for Jan. 23, 2025 on requested general-plan and zoning changes for the Far West Landing property, and confirmed its 2025 meeting schedule.
The sign recommendation followed brief applicant comments and a short review by staff. Robin Stout, representing Davis Signs, told the commission the proposed sign meets size requirements and is not illuminated. Commissioner Darren moved to recommend approval of the wall sign; Commissioner Brandon seconded the motion and the commission voted in favor.
The commission set two public hearings for Jan. 23, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.: one to consider an amendment to the general plan to allow commercial use on the northernmost parcel of Far West Landing, and a second to consider rezoning portions of Far West Landing to a regional commercial zone (C-3). Commissioners said the proposals are consistent with the developerstated intent for the property; the commission set the hearings to allow public comment and further technical review.
On routine business the commission confirmed its meeting schedule for the second and fourth Thursdays of each month beginning at 6:30 p.m., and approved the minutes of the Dec. 12, 2024 meeting. Each of those motions was made, seconded and approved by the commission.
