Committee advances cleanup-code change to match previously raised spending cap for tank remediation

Representative Jack Latham, introducing the measure for the sponsor, said the legislature last session raised the maximum expenditure from $1.5 million to $2,000,000 but a paragraph was missed in the code update. “This is simply a cleanup bill,” Latham said. The amendment updates the single omitted code section to match the change approved previously.
Committee members asked no substantive questions and no members of the public testified. Representative Latham closed and the motion to pass was made and seconded; the committee approved the cleanup bill by voice vote. The transcript contains no roll-call tally for the vote.
