Commissioners reviewed the county’s draft capital improvements list prepared for the state Capital Improvement Board (CIB) process and identified projects to prioritize. Staff located a deadline in late March and said the county would need time to confirm project details and funding breakdowns before submitting any final list.
Discussion covered whether particular projects should be placed in the one-year column versus the two- to five-year column. Commissioners highlighted items that may be time-sensitive, including airport apron and taxiway resurfacing, jail improvements, county trail and ski-resort NEPA work, and possible property acquisition. Staff reported a likely CIB due date near March 25th; commissioners then agreed to review and refine the draft during the coming week.
A motion was made and seconded to table consideration of the CIB capital improvements list until the following meeting and to perform additional due diligence during the week so the item could be finalized and submitted on or before the stated deadline. The commission voted to table the item and directed staff to return with the updated list.
