Santa Rosa Art in Public Places Committee names judges for two public-art programs and hears program updates

The Art in Public Places Committee (APPC) voted unanimously Jan. 6, 2025, to nominate committee members to serve as jurors for two upcoming public-art programs and heard a staff presentation on the division’s mapping of the city’s public-art collections and several open calls for work.
Staff presented that the National Arts Program recently closed with 145 people registered, most of them Santa Rosa residents, and that artworks will be dropped off Feb. 1 at the Family Center with judging scheduled on a 2- to 3-hour panel session the week of Feb. 4–6. The committee moved to recommend that “Jeff” serve as the APPC selection-panel juror for the National Arts Program; the motion was seconded and passed on a roll-call vote with all ayes.
