Public Works director Neil told the Pleasant Grove City Council Jan. 8 that staff is recommending Geneva Rock as the contractor for the city’s 2025 roadway program, with an initial contract figure of roughly $3.5 million.
The proposed award follows the city’s procurement process and is structured to be flexible: staff said they will add or remove streets and sidewalk repairs as the budget and project lists are finalized. Neil said the approach mirrors last year’s work-flow, where staff identified both street segments and accompanying sidewalk repairs they could deliver within the available budget.
Why it matters: the recommended contractor will perform concrete and roadway work across multiple city streets. Staff said they are also obtaining pricing to grind and finish sidewalk work from last year’s projects so the overall program achieves a more complete repair of sidewalks and roadways.
Neil said the city plans to present a full list of 2025 projects at the annual budget planning session next month and expects to finalize the contract scope before work begins. “So when we do our annual budget planning session here next month, you’ll have a comprehensive what you’re doing in 2025,” Neil told the council.
Next steps: staff will present the award as a consent/agreement item on the council agenda for formal approval and will refine the contract scope as budgets and road lists are confirmed.
