Downingtown schools report progress on Beaver Creek and West Bradford projects; capital list includes trucks, auditorium repairs

Superintendent Dr. Chance said the district remains "on or a little ahead of schedule" for the Beaver Creek and West Bradford construction projects but that a phasing shift has taken cafeteria work into the spring, creating a roughly four‑month window of alternate lunch arrangements.

The update to the Downingtown Area School District board said the district will bring full kindergarten classrooms online in spring and have the new, full kitchen available "for the 1st day of school in the fall," while cafeteria spaces at Beaver Creek will be offline for part of the spring construction. Dr. Chance said, "For the time period in the spring, we will rotate some hot lunches into the mix for the kids," and that the district has been coordinating with Aramark and local vendors to fill menu needs during the outage.
