Grand County commissioners elect Bill Winfield chair, Melody McCandless vice chair; move into closed session

Bill Winfield was elected chair of the Grand County Boards and Commissions and Melody McCandless was elected vice chair during the board’s organizational meeting, with the nomination and subsequent vote occurring as the first substantive business of the year.

Outgoing chair Jacques Hadler opened the meeting and said he was stepping down after nearly three years in the role. “I’m extremely humbled and honored, to have served in this way, to serve the county in this way, and to have been entrusted by my fellow commissioners the last few years,” Hadler said. He told colleagues he would remain available to provide advice and support to the incoming chair.
