Board elects Salino president, Tara Hintz chosen as vice president

The North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District Board of Education elected Miss Salino as board president and Tara Marie Hintz as vice president during its Jan. 7 reorganization meeting.

Board members nominated and then voted by roll call for the two officer positions. Nominations for president included Brendan (Brendan—/Brendan McGysick as stated during nominations) and another candidate; following the roll-call count the presiding administrator announced Miss Salino as the winner. For vice president, Nicole Gallo and Tara Hintz were nominated; the board voted and announced Tara Hintz as vice president.

The election followed the board—s standard reorganization process: members may nominate a candidate without a second, and officers are chosen by a majority of members present and constituting a quorum. The board conducted individual roll-call votes for each nomination and repeated balloting if no candidate received a majority.

Board members present performed the customary oath of office for newly elected board members earlier in the meeting. The board also confirmed the district—s official publications and indicated it will revisit policy manual updates after receiving the new materials from the New Jersey School Boards Association.

The board moved on to regular business after the elections, including scheduling and adopting routine organizational motions.
