The Selma Tourism Advisory Board approved an initial 50th-anniversary marketing image and discussed distribution plans for printed rack cards and brochure holders.
Town staff presented a seven-day image package and a draft social-image that adds a gold "50th" banner to the existing Railroad Days artwork. Members suggested minor visual tweaks — removing an outline and adding a subtle shadow behind the anniversary banner — and approved posting the initial 50th-announcement image on Friday to begin social promotion. Staff said finalized artwork and the consistent gold banner would be used across images and that more detailed day-by-day event posts would wait until after the February meeting when logistics are confirmed.
Members also reviewed distribution of printed rack cards and brochure holders. Staff reported printed materials have been produced and will be placed at hotels and the town hall; board members asked staff to also target highway-adjacent gas stations and key arrival points off I-95 and to check rack-card holder sizes before drop-offs. A board member said she will personally deliver additional materials to businesses and update the group when distribution occurs.
Ending: Staff will send the revised artwork to the business bureau for final production, begin boosted social posts on Friday using the approved image, and report distribution status and sample artwork at the February meeting.
