The West Jordan Planning Commission elected Jay Thomas chair and Trish Hatch vice chair during its Jan. 7 meeting and completed several internal appointments and oaths of office.
The commission voted unanimously to name Jay Thomas chair after a nomination and a second. Trish Hatch was elected vice chair by unanimous vote. Commissioners then took up committee appointments: Commissioner James Anderson and Commissioner Roberts were appointed to the Design Review Committee for 2025, and Commissioner Hollingsworth was appointed to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) committee.
The meeting also included oath-of-office ceremonies for newly appointed or reappointed commissioners. Commissioner Jay Thomas and Commissioner James Anderson each recited the oath of office and signed the records on the dais.
Mayor Burton addressed the commission, thanking members for their service and noting the city’s recent and upcoming development projects that will require the commission’s review in the coming months.
The commission approved the minutes from its Dec. 17, 2024 meeting by unanimous vote.
