The Ada County Board of Commissioners voted on Jan. 7 to table Resolution 3059, which would approve county membership in a purchasing cooperative, so staff can correct the cooperative’s name in the draft resolution.
A county staff member told the board the intention was for Ada County to join a cooperative called “Axia Cooperative,” but the draft resolution listed “the purchasing cooperative of America.” The staff member requested the item be re-tabled to allow correction of the document.
A motion to table Resolution 3059 to the Jan. 14 business meeting was offered and seconded. The board voted by voice and the motion carried.
Commissioners requested that when the item returns staff include an estimate of the actual savings the county expects from membership in the cooperative; staff said membership can yield volume-based discounts and cited typical savings in the 20–30% range for cooperative contracts, which are procured by larger lead agencies. The board scheduled the corrected resolution to return on Jan. 14 for further consideration.
