Summary
City staff told the council the Claremore State of the Chamber is scheduled for Jan. 29 and that staff and public works crews are prepared for cold weather, including grinding intersections and using salt/ice melt as needed; Tulsa Regional Chamber recognition is Jan. 23 at Cox Convention Center.
City staff told the Claremore City Council that the Claremore State of the Chamber will be held Jan. 29 and asked council members who want to attend to notify staff by Jan. 22.
"The Claremore State of the Chamber will be held on, January 29th. If you would like to attend that, we need to know fairly soon," a city staff member said. He also noted the Tulsa Regional Chamber will recognize city staff at an event Jan. 23 at the Cox Convention Center in Tulsa; that event begins at 11:30 a.m. and uses tables of 10.
The city manager reported public works crews have been grinding intersections and bridges in advance of cold weather and are prepared to apply sand-and-salt mixes or ice melt after any precipitation. He warned that sustained cold increases the potential for water-line breaks, saying crews are "geared up" to respond if problems occur.
No council action was taken on the items in the staff report; staff asked interested council members to RSVP for the Chamber events.
