Riverton City Council elected Council member Tish Broker as mayor pro tempore for the calendar year, choosing a council member to act in the mayor’s absence and to execute documents as needed.

Council member McKay nominated Tish Broker and the nomination received a second. The council then conducted a roll-call vote; the motion passed and Council member Broker will serve as mayor pro tempore until the council’s next selection or rotation.

Council members said the mayor-pro-tem appointment typically occurs at the first meeting of the calendar year and may prompt a seating arrangement change on the dais.
