The Menomonee Falls Planning Commission on Jan. 7 unanimously approved a lighting exemption allowing two 25-foot pole lights at the Alto‑Shaam property on W164N9221 Water Street to exceed the village's maximum permitted height.

Planner Amy Bennett told commissioners the request had been introduced at the prior meeting and that the two poles would sit roughly five feet from the property line adjacent to the Steinhafels site. Bennett said the property is zoned for light industrial use and showed the plan illustrating the location of the parking area and proposed pole heights.

The commission opened a public hearing and received no public testimony. After closing the hearing, a motion to grant the exemption carried unanimously.

The approval allows the applicant to place the two light poles at the proposed height to provide illumination for the parking area; the staff report and drawings shown to the commission form the record of the request.

The commission did not attach any additional conditions beyond the standard permitting requirements listed in the staff report.
