Huber Heights councilmembers nominated and advanced several internal governance items. Councilmember Nancy nominated Mark Campbell as vice mayor for 2025; Campbell accepted and the council agreed to place the nomination on the Monday agenda for formal action.
Council appointed Christopher Darren (applicant) to the Property Maintenance Review Board for a term ending Dec. 31, 2025; staff confirmed his background check had been processed. For an open planning commission seat, staff reported three applicants and recommended council interviews next week so the appointee can be seated in time for the Jan. 27 meeting. Councilmembers were asked to provide availability to staff for scheduling interviews; no objections were recorded.
Council also discussed background-check timing and logistics for those board appointments. No formal votes were taken at the work session beyond unanimous consent to forward the vice-mayor nomination and to advance the Property Maintenance Review Board appointment to the Monday agenda for confirmation.
