The San Antonio Zoning Commission continued multiple cases to give applicants time to meet with neighbors, submit site plans or provide additional information.
Key continuances and postponements recorded at the meeting:
- Item 3 was continued to Jan. 21, 2025. The motion to continue passed on a roll-call vote. The chair announced the new hearing date.
- Items 6 and 9 were continued to Feb. 4, 2025. A commissioner moved for the continuance and the motion passed unanimously.
- Item 2, a request involving a change from single-family zoning and a proposal for multiple units, was postponed two weeks to allow the applicant to meet with the neighborhood association and affected residents. Staff and commissioners discussed zoning alternatives (including R-4 CD and RM-5) and the need for a site plan if a higher-density designation is sought.
- Item 5, a request where the applicant sought up to four units on a large lot, was continued four weeks to allow the applicant to work with neighbors and the city on parking, access and design; commissioners suggested a three-unit option could be more consistent with the area.
- Item 11, a mixed-use rezoning request seeking MXD with a proposed density up to 75 units per acre for buildings currently in the medical district, was continued two weeks so the applicant can supply additional details about site plans, height limits and drainage mitigation. Staff noted an alternative recommendation to limit density to 40 units per acre.
Commissioners asked applicants to consult with neighborhood associations and staff, provide clearer site plans and confirm access, parking and drainage details before the continued hearings. Several commissioners said more detailed exhibits would make decision-making easier at the next meeting.
Each continuance was recorded in the meeting minutes and will be reflected in the official case schedules.
