FHWA and FTA to conduct MPO certification review; public meetings scheduled in Evansville and Henderson

Aaron, staff member, announced that representatives from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) will conduct a certification review of the Evansville metropolitan planning process, as required under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act's continuing certification requirement.
Aaron said the purpose of the review is to evaluate the transportation planning process, highlight good practices, exchange information and identify opportunities for improvement. The review includes opportunities for public comment and two public meetings where members of the public and stakeholders can speak directly to FHWA and FTA representatives.
The public meetings were scheduled as follows: Tuesday, January 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the C.K. Newsome Center in Evansville, and Wednesday, January 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Henderson County Public Library. Aaron noted a public comment form is available on the MPO website for those who prefer to provide comments in writing. He invited anyone with questions about the process to reach out to the MPO office.
Aaron encouraged committee members and the public to participate in the scheduled meetings and use the public comment form if unable to attend in person.
