Council adopts ordinance restricting parking on several residential streets

The ordinance amends the city's parking schedule to add portions of East San Antonio, Gateway Boulevard South, Findlay Avenue, Stephen Street and South Latta Street to the restricted list. Representative Acevedo moved to adopt the ordinance and Representative Piero seconded. The council held a public hearing and then voted to adopt the ordinance unanimously.
No substantive public testimony opposing the change was recorded on the transcript. Council members said the measure was procedural and targeted at traffic safety and residential access concerns. The ordinance takes effect per the city's standard ordinance-adoption schedule and will be enforced by the appropriate municipal departments once signs are posted and the code update is implemented.
