District staff reported the results of radon testing conducted at New Prague High School. The district said testing is voluntary but recommended by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and that it conducts testing every five years or after major renovations.
Testing at the high school used roughly 115 detection kits placed primarily on lower levels in early December; kits were left in place for one week and then retrieved for analysis. The district reported all samples were below MDH thresholds.
Staff said the purpose of presenting the report to the board was to record the testing in the meeting minutes so the district could submit the results to MDH. No board action was required.
The board received the report as information.
