He encouraged the county to pursue Utah Aeronautics Division grants, said some grants typically fund 80–90 percent of eligible projects, and recommended the county send a representative to the annual aeronautics conference in St. George.
Commissioners and staff discussed the airport’s existing self‑service and full‑service fueling options, apron configuration and whether the current apron design was optimized for future fuel sales. The candidate offered to serve as a contact or advisor to the county and suggested focusing first on a fuel‑sales plan to generate recurring revenues.
No formal appointment or salary decision was made Feb. 4. Commissioners asked staff to identify a point of contact for aeronautics grants and to return with further information before finalizing any manager appointment.
