Midway council extends Lundin land‑sale deadline to April 30 while parties finalize terms

Midway City Council voted unanimously to extend the deadline for the Lundin land purchase and related conservation negotiations to April 30, allowing Tolleson Lands and the Lundin family additional time to finalize legal terms and funding commitments.
Wendy (representing Tolleson Lands) told the council the parties are close on a purchase and conservation easement but needed more time to complete legal reviews and obtain final signoffs. She said the original settlement deadline had passed on Dec. 31 and requested a further extension while staff and counsel finalize the documents.
A council member moved to extend the deadline to April 30, adopting the same findings and conditions from the previous extension; the motion was seconded by Council member Craig. The motion passed with an aye vote from Jeff, Kevin, Craig, JC and Lisa (recorded in sequence during roll call).
A council member praised the Lundin family’s persistence. “I want to commend everybody, the Lundin family, Wasatch County, Midway City, all of the folks that are involved in trying to continue to move this forward,” Wendy said. Council members said they would continue to assist staff and counsel as needed to complete the transaction.
The extension preserves the previously negotiated conditions and the parties’ commitment to move toward a conservation outcome; council directed staff to continue document review and to bring finalized agreements back for consideration before the new deadline.
