Tiburon Design Review Board votes: minutes adopted, consent and two land-use items advanced

The Town of Tiburon Design Review Board took several procedural and land‑use votes at its Jan. 16 meeting. All votes recorded in the meeting passed by voice vote with a 3-0 tally and two members absent.

Adopt minutes: The board adopted the minutes from its Dec. 5 meeting by voice vote. (Vote recorded as aye; motion passed 3-0 with two members absent.)

Consent item — 1960 Straits View: The board adopted the consent calendar item denying an appeal related to a fence at 1960 Straits View. There was no public comment on the item; the board approved the resolution 3-0 with two members absent.

1 Estella Drive — fence variance: The board adopted a resolution approving a variance to allow a two‑foot lattice on the downhill section of a private fence at 1 Estella Drive. Applicant representatives said the lower portion of the fence runs about 52 feet on a steep slope; immediate neighbor at 1 Burke Court supported the request. Vote: 3-0 (two absent). The board instructed staff to finalize resolution language and noted permit-level details could be refined during building-permit review.

21 Maravista Court — residential rebuild: After extensive public comment from multiple adjacent homeowners about privacy and noise, the board voted 3-0 (two absent) to have staff draft and return a resolution that conditions approval on installation of more mature plant screening between the properties. The board did not grant final project approval at the meeting; the resolution will return for final action at a future meeting.

All three substantive land-use items will have resolutions prepared or posted by staff for subsequent action or permit processing.
