Commission forms ad hoc to explore collaborations with Cinelounge and library

The Heritage and Arts Commission on Jan. 28 formed an ad hoc committee to conduct outreach and explore collaborative programming with the Cinelounge and the public library.
Chair Gupta asked for volunteers to serve on the ad hoc; commissioners Nora Noguez, Trish Farren and Liz Faibush agreed to serve. Chair Gupta moved that Nora Noguez, Trish Farren and Liz Faibush constitute the ad hoc committee for collaborations with Cinelounge, the Chamber and the library; Vice Chair Etemad seconded the motion and commissioners approved it by voice vote.
Commissioners described potential activities for the ad hoc committee, including a film series, art fairs and poetry slams in 2025, and discussed whether the commission might need to provide funding for any collaborative events. Commissioners noted the library and Cinelounge may have their own budgets and suggested the ad hoc first “test the waters” to establish interest and possible cost-sharing before seeking commission funding. The ad hoc will report back with recommendations and any proposed budget requests.
