Cambridge Council adopts revised cycling safety ordinance after hours of public appeal

The Cambridge City Council on Monday adopted an amended Cycling Safety Ordinance (CSO) intended to speed construction of protected bike lanes on Cambridge Street, Broadway and Main Street and required a status report on the Grand Junction multiuse path.
Supporters of the CSO packed the virtual public comment period, where dozens of residents and regular cyclists urged the council to approve the ordinance "as is" and not delay construction.
