County tourism staff updated commissioners on upcoming events and marketing work intended to draw visitors to Daggett County.
Jordan (tourism staff) said the Outlaw ATV Jamboree is imminent: registration is Wednesday night followed by rides Thursday–Saturday; the county will host lunch at the park all three days, and a local business donated food. Jordan also said a Utah Office of Tourism writer, Laurie Schmidt, will visit next Monday for a familiarization ride that will include Bernal and site visits in the county.
On marketing, Jordan described two separate advertising contracts. One deal listed in the packet for "marketing out of state" is $9,475; Jordan said this is one of multiple purchase orders and is separate from media buys with APG Media and Sweetwater Now. Jordan said the larger combination of buys brought roughly $27,000 of activity into the Wyoming/Colorado market area and that APG Media is running ads targeted along the I-80 corridor and related streaming placements. Staff noted these regional buys are smaller than prior international contracts the county had pursued in Asia.
Jordan also reminded commissioners about upcoming industry association meetings and a TRT (tourism) update session scheduled for a Friday (one week from the meeting date).
Why it matters: The events and advertising aim to bring visitors and lodging/business revenue to the county, and staff are coordinating site visits and regional media buys tied to those efforts.
What's next: Tourism staff will host the writer visit, run the scheduled ads, and provide follow-up on advertising performance to the commission.
