City updates irrigation work and wells; staff reports higher water use in 2024

Dixie Springs Well is being prepared for a materials bid to install casing, motor and pump. Corey said they will advertise to procure materials and equipment to complete the well installation and commissioning.
On usage statistics, staff said water left in town wells (Stratton and West wells) measured about 350,000,000 gallons and Ash Creek/Tocqueville contributed about 88,000,000 gallons. The city used roughly 200,000,000 more gallons during the year than the prior year, the report stated; staff also noted the city provided water to the American system for much of January–March. Staff urged residents to hope for light rains and improved snowpack to bolster supply.
