Committee batches and advances a group of Code Revision technical-correction bills (HB1355–HB1364)

The Senate Judiciary Committee moved as a batch and reported do pass a group of technical-correction bills (House Bills 1355 through 1364) submitted by the Code Revision Commission.
Senator Clark Tucker, who presented the bills, said they are technical corrections only and had been vetted by the Code Revision Commission, which includes legislative and staff reviewers. He noted an example change: removing a stray reference to a "Class A misdemeanor" where the offense in question is a felony and therefore that misdemeanor language is erroneous in the statutory text.
Senators asked procedural questions about batching and the chair read the list of individual bills that would be voted on together. A motion to take the group up as a batch was made and seconded; the committee then moved the batch do pass and the chair announced the motion carried after a voice vote. No substantive debate on the individual items was recorded in committee.
The committee’s action covered the individual bills listed on the record (HB1355, HB1356, HB1357, HB1358, HB1359, HB1360, HB1361, HB1362, HB1363, HB1364). Sponsors said any substantive changes would be handled in separate bills and these were intended as technical codification corrections.
