Taft City Council approves consent calendar including multiple Article 8 claims, server purchase and CoreLogic amendment

At its Tuesday meeting the Taft City Council approved the consent calendar — items 9 through 14 — by a 5-0 roll-call vote.
The consent items included: minutes for the Jan. 21, 2025 meeting (item 9); payment of bills totaling approximately $1,269,000 (item 10); multiple Transit Development Act (Article 8) claims covering fiscal years listed in the staff report (item 11); multiple Street and Roads Development Act (Article 8) claims for fiscal years listed (item 12); a $19,147.71 expenditure to replace computer servers at the city’s wastewater treatment facility (item 13); and Amendment No. 1 to the CoreLogic Master Service Agreement (item 14).
Staff recommended and the council adopted resolutions for the Article 8 filings and, for each of the consent items that appeared on the staff report, the council found the activities were not projects under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to the CEQA guidelines (including determinations citing section 15060(c)(3) and section 15378).
A council member moved to approve the consent calendar and the motion received a second; the roll call vote was recorded as: Council member Crier — yes; Mayor Pro Tem Bryant — yes; Council member Waldrop — yes; Council member Chavera — yes; Mayor Noor — yes. The motion passed 5–0.
No council member removed an item for separate discussion, and the meeting moved on to closed session following approval.
Actions recorded on the consent calendar will enable the city to file the specified Article 8 claims and to proceed with the server replacement and the CoreLogic amendment as authorized by the adopted resolutions.
