The Board of Civil Service Trustees of Las Vegas approved routine personnel actions at a brief June 11 meeting, including approval of the May 28, 2025 meeting minutes, certification of several eligible lists for hire, extensions of multiple existing eligible lists, and certification of firefighter classification specifications.
The board opened by confirming a quorum and compliance with the open meeting law before moving through business with no public comment. Member Stamper moved to approve the final minutes of the May 28, 2025 regular meeting; the motion carried with members voting in favor.
In separate actions the board certified eligible lists covering three recruit pools: Correction Officer (open), Correction Officer (lateral, open), and Deputy City Marshal (open). Member Hirsch moved to approve item 5, and the motion passed.
The board also approved a package of extensions to eligible lists for a range of civilian and uniformed classifications. The lists approved for extension included: Accounting Technician II (open), Business Specialist (open), Communication Specialist Supervisor (promotional), Construction Management Supervisor (open), EMS Educator (open), Fire Battalion Chief (56-hour, promotional), Fire Captain (promotional), Fire Communications Chief (open), License Officer (open), Logistics Supervisor (open), and Senior Youth Development Specialist (open). Member Hirsch moved to approve item 6, and the extensions carried.
Finally, the board certified updated classification specifications for Firefighter, Firefighter Paramedic, and Firefighter Trainee. Member Stamper moved to approve item 7 as read; the motion carried.
There was no substantive public comment during the designated comment periods and no extended debate on the items. The board adjourned following the routine votes.
