Council directs staff to ask Cal Water for updates and technical information on infrastructure and easements

Following a blue-folder discussion and a council request, staff were directed to research several items related to California Water Company operations and to invite Cal Water representatives to a future meeting to answer questions.
Council members asked staff to request information and updates from Cal Water on multiple topics: how the company monitors distribution infrastructure for leaks and breaks; whether recent sinkholes or wet-root tree failures were investigated for nearby leaks; timelines and scope for any planned pipe replacements on Quail Ridge South and Centring Road; geotechnical reports tied to the fire-hardening and reliability project in Appaloosa and Upper Blackwater Canyon; and the company’s coordination with Metropolitan Water District regarding reservoirs and fire-flow availability.
Council directed staff to compile those questions and to ask Cal Water to appear at a future meeting to explain monitoring practices, the status of any infrastructure replacement, easement considerations, and emergency preparedness steps. Council also requested that blue-folder materials be posted with subsequent agendas so absent members can review them.
