Stewartville board elects 2025 officers and administers oath to newly elected member

The Stewartville Public School District school board elected Nicole Raymaker as chair, Ryan Ravenhorst as vice chair, Christie Cook as clerk and Troy Geiss as treasurer, approved Laura Kokus as school board secretary and administered the oath of office to a newly elected board member.

The organizational meeting set leadership and committee assignments for 2025 and confirmed meeting dates, including a special board development work session scheduled for March 10 at 6 p.m. Those items establish who will run and represent the board during the year and where routine business will be scheduled.

Board members nominated and confirmed officers by voice vote; several positions were approved without extended debate. The board approved the meeting calendar as presented and noted the March 10 special work session on board development. The board also approved member committee assignments and asked members to provide minutes or attendance records for outside committees when required for stipend eligibility.

The board administered the oath of office to the newly elected director. The oath recited by the director included the pledge: “I swear that I will support the constitution of The United States and of the state, and that I will discharge faithfully the duties of office of school board… to the best of my judgment and ability.” The board welcomed the new member after the oath.

The board approved the slate of officers and appointments by unanimous or acclamation votes during the meeting. The board chair reserved the ability to revisit organizational decisions at future annual meetings.

The meeting concluded after routine organizational business and committee appointments were finalized. The board also scheduled a group photo and plans for distribution of meeting materials to district publications and staff.
