Leesburg BAR names representatives for 2025 joint architectural awards

Board members agreed during the June 2 work session to have Helen Aikman and Julie serve again as Leesburg's representatives on the joint architectural review board awards program for 2025. Staff member Ashley will organize a kickoff meeting with representatives and staff, likely in July, and said the awards event is scheduled for Sept. 25, 2025 at the Berkeley House in downtown Leesburg.
The board discussed eligibility timing for nominations and generally agreed projects completed in 2024 that missed last year's awards should be eligible for 2025 consideration. Ashley also noted three in‑person Department of Historic Resources trainings in August and November and encouraged members to register early; staff indicated travel and training budget support will be available.
