The contract covers a 60-month (five-year) term with payments made annually as a lump sum that the county cannot recover if it later terminates the agreement. Commissioners were told the first-year payment will be about $30,000 (after a roughly $22,000 credit from an overlapping prior payment), with subsequent annual payments of about $53,000 built into the sheriff’s budget.
