Council confirmed several appointments and reappointments, including the selection of Councilmember Britt Moore as mayor pro tem for a term effective immediately and expiring Dec. 15, 2025.
Other confirmed appointments included: - Councilmember Monica Peters as the council liaison to the 2045 Comprehensive Plan Task Force. - Former Mayor Bernita Sims to the Historic Preservation Commission (term through 06/30/2027). - John Kaldi reappointed to the Guilford County/City Insurance Advisory Committee (term through 12/21/2027). - Miyako Sturdivant appointed to the Citizens Advisory Council (term through 05/05/2025).
Council also approved several routine confirmations and reappointments by voice vote; the meeting record shows the motions passed with “ayes” called from the dais. A motion to go into a closed session under attorney-client privilege concluded the meeting’s open portion.
