Lane said the county has changed how utilities and contract services (custodial, landscaping, garbage, generator service) are billed: those costs are now charged directly to the library’s fund rather than being centrally carried. “There was kind of a little buffer when we were doing it. But now if you guys if those budgets do go over for utility or gas, I'll have to do some budget amendments to make things whole at the end of the year,” Lane said. Facilities work covered by the allocation includes general repairs, maintenance, HVAC and maintenance wages.
