Commissioners and staff noted trade-offs: private-club access provides immediate leisure options but limited capacity and cost per visit; mobile lesson vendors could deliver lessons relatively quickly but require staging sites and parking; SRD expansion would leverage existing infrastructure but would require negotiation for nonmember access; and a new municipal pool would meet many needs but has high capital and operating costs and lacks a funded site.
David (staff) and commissioners said next steps are to compile cost estimates and discuss partnership and scheduling options with TPC, Tiburon Lodge, SRD and mobile providers. Commissioners also said they would collect more precise data on demand for lessons versus leisure access to tailor recommendations.
No formal decision was made at the meeting.
