The Vicksburg Warren School District Board authorized Superintendent Dr. Holloway to develop options to address lighting problems at district athletic facilities, including softball fields at Vicksburg High and Warren Central and lighting at the Vicksburg High football field.
Dr. Holloway requested permission to work with facilities staff and consultant Jim Young to devise financing and technical options for replacing or upgrading the lighting. He said the attorney and finance staff would present two or three financing options for board consideration, including the possible use of district funds held in specific accounts. The president asked that Title IX implications and equitable facility improvements be considered as part of the planning.
The board approved adding the discussion item to the agenda and then approved the motion authorizing staff to develop solutions. Dr. Holloway said he would return with cost estimates and financing scenarios for board review before any procurement or installation.
No procurement or contracts were approved at the meeting; the action authorized planning and the development of options for future board decision.
