The Vicksburg Warren School District Board of Trustees voted to approve a change order of $57,516 to replace exterior metal wall panels and install a standing-seam roof at the RCEC building, the board heard at its December meeting.
District staff told the board contractors discovered rusted wall panels, corroded steel members and deteriorated purlins when they began removing the existing siding. Troy Stokes, the district92s project manager with M&P (on the line), said the contractor proposed replacing the wall panels and replacing the roof rather than applying the originally planned overlay because the existing materials were worse than expected.
