County staff presented an inventory of equipment purchased through forensic pathology and asked commissioners for permission to redistribute items the county no longer needs. The list included medical and investigation supplies, a refrigerator and smaller cameras and tools.
Kristy Pauser said some items could benefit the sheriff's office and clerk's office; Dan Kendall identified space and potential use at the YDC Building. Pauser proposed sending the equipment list to the sheriff's office and clerk to allow those departments to claim items that would save them purchase costs.
Commissioner motioned to authorize redistribution locally or to contact Ada County to explore equipment exchanges; commissioners voted 'aye' and the motion carried. Staff said they would have representatives go to the storage location to inventory items, tag transfers and coordinate any exchange with Ada County where appropriate.
Pauser said personal protective supplies may be difficult to redistribute, but cameras and small instruments could be re‑used by investigations or other county offices. The board asked staff to track what is taken so remaining items can be offered externally.
