Commissioners prequalify four contractors to bid on county generator project

Levi Waldron, chief operations director for the Bannock County Sheriff's Office, presented the results of the prequalification phase for the county generator project and recommended allowing four firms to move to the bid stage.
Waldron told the commissioners that four contractors submitted qualifications and all met the prequalification criteria. He listed the firms recommended to proceed: Arco Electric Idaho Incorporated, Legacy Power Systems, Barron Group and ProBuilders Incorporated.
A commissioner moved to accept the recommendation and authorize the four firms to bid. The board took a voice vote; all present said “aye” and the motion carried.
Kristy Pauser, county comptroller, also noted the county would send formal letters to the contractors and requested the commissioners sign them after the meeting.
The prequalification advances the generator procurement to the formal bid stage; no contract award was made at the meeting.
