Committee approves schematic design funding transfer for bike connection to Universal City Metro; CAO to identify offsets if general fund affected

The Budget and Finance Committee on Feb. 18 approved a motion to transfer funds from the Bicycle Trust Fund to develop a schematic design for a two-way Class 4 bicycle facility connecting the Los Angeles River path to the Universal Studio City Metro Station and to fund a north-side walking path along the LA River.
Committee members added a minor amendment directing the City Administrative Officer to identify an equivalent offset should the proposed funds have a general-fund impact for the current fiscal year. The amended motion passed on a recorded 5-0 vote.
The transfer and schematic design task were approved as amended; the CAO will assess the fiscal impact and identify offsets if needed before any new general-fund allocation is made.
