South Elementary building project to appear on April 8 ballot after town meeting approval

Committee members thanked town meeting members for the Feb. 3 vote in favor of the debt-exclusion article and noted a continuing community outreach effort. Town Manager Tom Kalter and Select Board member Joe McCrisky were conducting presentations for senior groups and other community forums to explain program details and potential financial relief options such as circuit-breaker tax relief for eligible households.
The building committee will meet Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. in hybrid format and has a roadshow of public presentations planned; the committee’s communications director has posted a calendar of PTO, PTA and town events where district staff and volunteers can present project information. The administration encouraged residents who want more information to attend building-committee and redistricting meetings or invite district representatives to local gatherings.
