Bee Cave Development Corporation cancels consultant contract, hires new planner and fills advisory committee seat

The Bee Cave City Council on Feb. 11 approved actions related to the BK Development Corporation’s strategic-planning work and committee appointments.
Council approved a resolution allowing the BK Development Corporation to cancel its contract with Opportunity Strategies LLC. Staff said scheduling conflicts prevented the consultant from completing the planned work and the EDC recommended contract cancellation at its Jan. 28 meeting. The resolution passed unanimously.
The council also approved a contract between the BK Development Corporation and Keyhoe Planning (Carly) to provide professional planning services to support the board’s long-range planning and strategic-plan efforts. Staff described a kickoff process that would include an EDC kickoff, a joint EDC–council meeting to set priorities, a draft plan presented to the EDC and a target to have the strategic plan completed before the July 1 EDC budget submission; staff said the plan would likely be wrapped up by June.
Finally, the council filled a vacancy on the Development Review Advisory Committee by appointing Kit Crumley to serve as the council member representative. Staff noted the committee meets on an ad hoc basis and includes the mayor, mayor pro tem, a council member and the planning and zoning commission chair.
All actions were approved unanimously; staff said the strategic plan will inform the EDC budget and the city’s long-range planning work.
