Tehachapi Chamber previews Wine Walk, luncheons and festival plans as membership grows

The Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce on a recent podcast episode said it will host a downtown Wine Walk on Feb. 15 and previewed other early-2025 events while announcing new business and nonprofit members.
"This is our first update for 2025, and January has already been off to a rolling start," said Claire Scottie, executive director of the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce. Scottie said the chamber held a community showcase luncheon in January featuring 12 local nonprofits and that new members have joined in recent weeks.
The chamber said the Wine Walk is scheduled for Feb. 15, running from noon to 5 p.m. Downtown Tehachapi will feature 19 tasting locations, local wines, handcrafted chocolates by Rancho Reverie, live music and giveaways. Claire Scottie said tickets are available at tehachapi.com and that attendees can check in next to the Train Depot Museum or the Visitor Center.
Scottie listed recent chamber members by name during the episode: Wild Roots Style Company; NAMI Kern County; Tiffany Designs (a hair salon on Robinson); Luna's Mexican Grill; Healing Solutions Family Therapy Center; Awesome Services Inc. (carpet cleaning); Native Real Estate; and Victory Family Services. She said the Wine Walk route also will include businesses such as Cowboys and Angels, Kite Sweet Treats, the Tehachapi Hitching Post Theater (under new management) and La Bodega de Castillo.
Sponsors and volunteer organizations named for the Wine Walk included the Semoranco team, WM, Discover Tehachapi, The Loop newspaper, the Heritage League Museum and the Tehachapi Amateur Radio Association. Scottie credited volunteers with staffing tasting and water stations to support the event.
The chamber also announced other upcoming events and programs. A February luncheon is set for Feb. 18 at noon at the American Legion; the chamber said city staff and department heads will provide a city update at that meeting. The chamber said it is planning a spring gala to celebrate Tehachapi's Finest in May after a record 67 nominations and is preparing an art contest tied to Mountain Fest, with a call for theme ideas and submissions.
Scottie said the chamber is planning an evening mixer with Kern County District 2 Supervisor Chris Parlier; a date was not provided. The chamber recommended following its social channels for specific dates and details.
The episode emphasized the chamber's role as a business resource center and a way to connect local businesses with city officials and volunteers. Scottie said the chamber will share event updates through its newsletter and social media channels, and thanked sponsors and volunteers who help stage downtown events.
Less critical details: Scottie encouraged local artists and residents to submit ideas for Mountain Fest theme artwork and said more information about the Tehachapi's Finest gala will be released as plans finalize.
