Iowa County reviews guardrail and bridge options, schedules bids for road work

On bridges, staff said the county’s application for a state bridge grant for the F52 Veil bridge west of 4 Mile Corner did not make the final list. Staff reported the state had 48 bridge applicants and accepted 20; the county’s bridge had a rating of 5 and was cut in the selection process.
Staff also noted routine procurement items: a final pay voucher (number 48-CO48-097) was presented and the board approved a motion authorizing the chair to sign it. Staff said they circulated spring concrete-patching bid requests and asked board members to attend the rock-bid opening scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 27 at 3 p.m.
No final commitment was made on the V77 extension amount; highway staff said they will re-review numbers and return with recommendations tied to the county’s ongoing budget discussions.
