Board approves consent agenda and routine business items

At the Feb. 6 meeting the Southeast Polk board approved a series of routine motions and consent items without exception.

Items approved included the consent agenda, appointment/approval of long-term substitute teacher positions, first readings of policy series (600 series), the annual policy-review listing (no substantive changes), an architect agreement for the transportation building, district office furniture/fixtures/equipment purchases reported as under budget, the certified annual report with an updated corrective-action plan, and final completion acceptance for the middle-school project.

Several motions were made with simple "motion to approve" and "second" calls from the dais; no roll-call debate occurred and each item passed. Board members answered "yes" in roll-call for each approval.

The board did not record named movers or seconders on the audio for many motions (motions were called generically). No items were tabled or failed during the session.

The approvals clear the way for project implementation and routine administrative operations described elsewhere on the agenda.
