Councilmembers and colleagues spoke at length about her mentorship and influence in the Coachella Valley.
The council also recognized Carl Morgan with a proclamation marking his nearly nine years in Indio and more than 40 years in economic development. Speakers credited Morgan with helping attract more than $350 million in public and private investment in the downtown and commercial corridors, supporting new hotels and retail projects, and establishing a succession plan within his department. Morgan thanked council and staff and noted the city’s economic momentum.
The presentations included family and regional guests in attendance and concluded with photo opportunities and public applause. No formal council action was required for the proclamations.
